Instruments of Devotion - Volume II
2013
[CDBaby]
Instrumental interpretations of devotional music from India (Kirtan).
In 1993, Emam produced an album titled Instruments of Devotion which has become our most popular album. So after 20 years we decided to create the follow up album we call Instruments of Devotion Vol 2.
Sit back, relax and go on a musical journey with an amazing assortment of acoustic instruments from around the world (sarod, sarangi, kora, sax, contra bass, sitar, tabla, dumbak & dholak) played by inspired master musicians. The melodies are heart felt and delightful, taken from popular kirtans (devotional songs) from North India.
Many of the pieces on this album were also released on an album by Yashoda called Longing for the Divine.
Here however, it is the instruments that sing with the deep longing for the divine
.
Recorded in India (sarod, sarangi, tabla, dholak & dumbak), Poland (sax & bass) and California (kora).
